Canny Wit Publishing was born from one craptastic idea—and a whole lot of heart.
When founder Esther Williams learned that her best friend’s son, a young father, had been diagnosed with bowel cancer, she felt powerless. Watching his family face both emotional and financial battles, Esther wanted to do more than just offer words of support—she wanted to create something that would make a real difference.
What began as a single cheeky puzzle book, The Daily Craptastic™, has grown into a humor-driven publishing house with a mission: to blend laughter with purpose. Every book we publish sparks joy for readers while helping raise funds and awareness for families facing life’s toughest challenges.

Canny Wit Publishing was born from a deeply personal place. When my best friend’s son—a young dad—was diagnosed with bowel cancer, I felt utterly helpless. I couldn’t change his diagnosis, but I could create something that brought joy and financial support to families like his. That’s how The Daily Craptastic™ was born—a puzzle book designed to raise smiles and funds at the same time.
Today, Canny Wit Publishing is so much more than one series. It’s a platform for humor with heart, championing bold, original voices and proving that even the crappiest ideas can turn into something life changing.
As the Creative Director of Canny Wit Publishing, my focus is on creating meaningful, thought-provoking puzzle books that offer more than just entertainment. I believe humour can open doors to learning, and that even light-hearted moments can be used to make a difference.
Our work is rooted in purpose—to educate, uplift, and support the wider community, with a portion of each project dedicated to causes that matter.
At the heart of it all, I use creativity as a way to contribute—to offer connection, support, and lasting impact.
